Professional Organizations:
Mark is a member of the Texas Society of CPA’s, The Dallas Estate Planning Council and belongs to two local CPA practice management groups to stay on top of current tax law changes and continue his professional education.
Education:
Mark holds a Master of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in Dallas, TX. Mark graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a 4.0 grade point average and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society for Business Schools. Mark also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN.
Professional Background:
In addition to having his own tax preparation and bookkeeping practice for the past nine years Mark has spent time working in public practice with other CPA firms that has given him experience in serving a wide variety of complex high net worth individual and business clients in the areas of tax preparation and planning, accounting services and consulting engagements. Mark also has an extensive management background with several large bigbox national retail companies (Dillard’s and Montgomery Ward) and was given multi-unit management responsibility over several states. Mark has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Irving Lake Association and President of the Vilbig Bass Club. Mark is currently serving as President and Treasurer of the Achiever’s CPA Practice Management Group which is a study group of the Texas Society of CPA’s.
Personal:
Mark is married to Julie Grigsby who teaches 8th grade history at the middle-school in the Highland Park School District. Mark and Julie are members of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and avid sports enthusiasts who will watch almost any sporting event if their favorite teams are not playing. Mark enjoys watching the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and University of Texas football team. Mark is a competitive bass fisherman, a recreational water skier and works out at the gym or runs 2-3 miles several days per week.
